Sometimes all thats needed is a reminder of how things can be so simple. It's one thing to have high hopes and it's another living off of them. Sometimes you have to step back and look at things for what they are, more often than not they are beautiful. There's beauty in everything if you look at it at the right angle. I come to a place often where I find myself heartbroken, discouraged, and sometimes let down. It is times like these where you have to change your perspective to realize that all of the things in life have some form of lesson to teach. Heartbreak especially seems to be one of those lessons that not only hurts the most, but also makes you grow so much stronger. I have not gone through heartbreak in a long time, but I feel as though I am feeling some residual effects of my past. They always have a lesson to teach, a strength to gain, a heart to be warmed, and motivation when there was none. I feel very motivated now, and the song above is one on my list that reminds me of some things I hold dear in this life. Even moments of silent loneliness can be filled with such joy, love, motivation, and creativity.
The name YellowBird Books comes from a few different events and feelings that I have had in my life. The Term itself is derived from a Bright Eyes album where the symbolism of a Yellowbird is found throughout. This Album titled "I'm wide awake it's morning" has been throughout my life and to this day a very important album to me. Throughout the album I find myself relating, or being able to live out a previous memory that I once had with old friends, old lovers, good events, heart break, and heart warming. This is one meaning behind the name. This is where I find my inspiration. This symbol of a yellow bird has played a theme through out my life. To me, the primary symbol behind the Yellowbird, is finding love. Now the very word love could mean many things. It is finding love in another, finding love in myself, finding love in what I do, and finding love in everything. This I feel is and always will be a constant theme in my life, and sure know it will be. For finding love is my primary motivator. I named my journals YellowBird Books because I want everyone who interacts with me and my work to find love in all that they encounter. This feeling of love is what brought the very designs so far to come to be. And like love itself, it will continue to grow, it will continue to break, and continue to heal, learn, and remake itself. Its the hearts that we embrace and influence that creates the stories of our lives. The books are blank with hopes that they will be filled with all of these things and more.
