Terence Mckenna is one of the most interesting people that have walked this earth in modern times. i have come to know that he passed away in 2000, although i have been a fan of his work for a few years now i am just now learning about his passing. his work continues to live on in all of us, for Mckenna’s work resign-ates inside all who choose to see it inside themselves. enjoy the article!
its almost autumn, or fall, or whatever you want to call it. the fall is my favorite time of year, spring coming in a strong second. the fall is the time of year when i was born, so i wonder if that is why im so fond of this time of year. i could list so many reasons as to why i love the fall. the weather, even the rainfall is beautiful because it cools off the nice heat that came in from the sun earlier in the day, and nighttime is always nice too because the sky is usually clear so even though the city isnt far from here i could still see the stars at night. then we have to changing of the leaves and flowers and the whole land. its a time for hibernation for mother earth, yes she does get tired too, creating so much life in the spring and summer could really tire someone out, you try doing all of that!

things like this are what i end up doing in between books, or while im waiting for the paper or wood stain to dry, or sometimes i just need a little pick me up so i can be all happy and super positive again. =]

to live in a time such as the sixties must have been… well to put it simply, amazing. looking back at that time, even though i wasent part of it, it really seemed it was sort of an us versus them scenario, there were the hippies of course, and the very conservative. thats all a well known store so i find no need to get into that.

what truly amazes me though is the connection people had back then. you do not see anything like that in this modern age. its funny because the people back then all somehow felt the same thing, and the only form of communication they had was the telephone, television, and newspapers, well there was the postal service of course. but you would think that with todays social networks and the power of mass media in all forms, you would think that we would all realize that we are one, or at least feel it once in awhile. i wish that i could go back to those times in the sixties and feel what must have been in the air. and no i dont just mean the everburning weed. i want to feel that connection that humanity had back then. afterall its still there, but we are too afraid, and too busy to see it.
is it common to be so at peace? all the time? is it possible? i know myself that its what i have been searching for since i could think. with everyday that passes, and every tiny speck that i find inspiration in, im at peace. is this what humanity is working towards? or is there something else?

who are these people so longing for peace? why are they the ones that get taken away from us, and viewed as crazies, communists, domestic terrorists, and the like. why are they the ones with the most violence directed towards them? why are they the ones who are assasinated? when tyrants, and murders are the ones that society tends to gravitate towards and accept the most. when was the last time you have seen a news artical or special bulletin about someone who is doing right by the world, and others? we as a society crave this negative attention, we crave the drama. we run away from self knowing, self peace, and we run even faster away from world peace.
